Privacy Policy

How Backup Pulse collects, uses, protects, and shares personal data.

Effective date: 13 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Levent Soykan, trading as Backup Pulse (“Backup Pulse”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles personal data when you visit our website, create an account, use Backup Pulse, or contact us.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Backup Pulse, we may collect account and contact information such as your name, work email address, organization name, authentication and account status information, and communications with us.

When you use the service, we may process backup-monitoring information such as backup job names, backup product information, sender and recipient addresses associated with backup evidence, backup status and timestamps, alert information, recovery-validation records, configuration data, and other evidence submitted through supported integrations.

We may also collect technical and security information such as IP address, browser or device information, application logs, timestamps, authentication events, and information needed to operate and protect the service.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide and administer Backup Pulse; authenticate users; associate data with the correct organization; collect and process backup evidence; detect backup failures or missed backups; generate alerts, dashboards, recovery-readiness information, and reports; send service communications; provide support; prevent abuse; secure and troubleshoot the service; and meet legal obligations.

3. Legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing may be based on performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Backup Pulse, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where consent is required. The applicable basis depends on the context and jurisdiction.

4. Customer-controlled data

Organizations may submit information about their systems, backup jobs, administrators, employees, suppliers, or other contacts. The customer is responsible for determining that it has an appropriate basis to provide that information to Backup Pulse. Where applicable, Backup Pulse processes such data to provide the service on the customer's instructions and for legitimate service-operation and security purposes.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We may use service providers for hosting, infrastructure, email delivery and ingestion, security, analytics or operational support where needed to run Backup Pulse. We disclose only information reasonably necessary for those providers to perform their services, subject to appropriate contractual and security arrangements where required.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or security, to investigate abuse or fraud, or as part of a legitimate business restructuring subject to applicable legal requirements.

6. Paddle and payment information

Paid Backup Pulse orders are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes buyer, billing, tax, and payment information needed to complete transactions. Backup Pulse does not receive or store full payment-card details.

Paddle may provide Backup Pulse with transaction and customer information needed for product fulfillment, subscription administration, fraud prevention, support, and account management. Paddle processes personal data under its own privacy notice and applicable buyer terms.

7. International processing

Backup Pulse and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you are located. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data.

8. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account and backup-monitoring history, meet security and support needs, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of data, account status, contractual requirements, and applicable law.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and customers remain responsible for protecting their own credentials and systems.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of personal data, or to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent and to complain to an appropriate data-protection authority.

To make a privacy request, contact support@backuppulse.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

11. Cookies and website data

Our website and application may use cookies or similar browser storage that are necessary for authentication, security, preferences, and core site functionality. If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising technologies that require consent, we will provide appropriate notice and controls before using them where required.

12. Children

Backup Pulse is a business service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly offer the service for use by children as consumers.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our service, providers, or legal obligations change. We will publish the current version here and update the effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.

14. Contact

Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@backuppulse.com or submitted through our contact page.
